Recently, Huadu District was honored the "Guangzhou Branch Base of National Auto and Auto Parts Export Base". According to insiders of the Huadu District Government, the District will designate RMB 25 million of its annual financial budget to support the auto and auto parts enterprises with respect to technological research and development, public trade and the fostering of self-owned brands as a means of expanding international markets.

It is estimated that by 2010, the Huadu District will have realized over USD 300 million in the export of autos and auto parts which will become the primary industrial export output for Huadu District. A branch export base of auto and auto parts will finally come into being which connects with the international market with an optimized export environment and the co-promotion of industry and trade.

The output value of completed vehicles in Huadu District in 2007 amounted to RMB 33.199 billion and the auto parts industry hit RMB 9.753 billion. Both the auto industrial output value and the tax revenue paid accounted for over 40% of the total for the whole District. As a major composition of Huadu's foreign export, the auto and auto parts industry had realized a total export value of over USD 430 million in the past three years with an annual increase rate of 39.56£¥.
