Accompanied by the president of Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, Kerry is walking towards her ancestrial house. |
On 15 June 2004, the 55th "Hawaii Narcissus Queen"Kerry Ching, the Ching Clan's members and five "princesses" visited Anding Village, Nanlang County of Zhongshan city initiated by Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
When Hawaii Narcissus Good Will Tour arrived in the afternoon, the villiagers had been waiting for a long time. The local lion dance and the deafening sound of gongs and drums showed their warm welcome to the "Queen" kerry and the tour. Led by her grandfather, Kerry walked towards her ancestrial house with the excitement.

Kerry is listerning carefully to grandpa telling her the story of the ancestrial house. |
No 16,the 4th Alley, Anding Villiage is Kerry's ancestrial house. Kerry burned joss sticks and bowled to her family idol. Then Kerry's grandpa began telling her old stories about himself and the ancestrial house. Kerry listened to the story carefully and nodded constantly. It seemed that Kerry is serious of Ching clan's history and grateful of her grandpa telling her the stories. Later, Kerry added her beautiful photo to the group photo frame of Ching families on the wall.
Kerry is a mixture of a Chinese and an original Hawaii inhabitant. She has a typical oriental appreance while cannot speak a single word of Chinese. By the time she left Nanlang Village, she told her fellow villagers, "It's first time I come back to my hometown. I like it instantly. For sure I will come back frequently in the future!"
