After more than two centuries of development, global Chinese media have entered into a flourishing and diversified stage.

The Chinese Media Universal Yangcheng Forum 2006, aimed at Interaction, Cooperation and Development and co-organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial Government, Yangcheng Evening News Group and Southern Broadcasting Media Group, was staged from November 22 to 29, 2006 in Guangzhou. Executives from 44 overseas media of 18 countries and regions and domestic media at state, provincial and city level attended the Forum. Through mutual exchanges, media salon and on-site visits, connection has been bridged for domestic and overseas Chinese media in order to explore cooperation, enhance mutual relations, create win-win situation and promote Guangdong.
