On the morning of November 6th, the 2007 Guangzhou IT Week, China opened at Asia International Hotel, which is co-organized by the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality and the Department of Information Industry of Guangdong Province.

Since its launch in 2001, the "Guangzhou IT Week, China", has been held annually in Guangzhou. With the gradual perfection in its content and increase in its international influence, it has become a very efficient exchange platform in the field of China's city informatization. This IT Week attracted IT practitioners from the US, EU, Singapore and other countries and also the leading enterprises in the IT field, including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and so on.

This IT Week lasts for 5 days with 20 themed forums. It centers on the development of the modern IT service industry, focusing on the themes of service boosting economic growth and information driving industrial takeoff, giving prominence to the features of "authority, internationalism, timeliness, speciality and diversity", and covering several fields advanced by informatization and the various respects of the modern IT service industry. The events include the 20 themed forums of the Summit Forum on Modern IT Service Industry, International Summit Forum on City Informatization, High Level Forum on E-government, CIO Summit Forum for International Enterprises, Innovation Industrial Summit Forum on Digital Contents, Brilliance of Information, Resplendence of Asian Games, etc.
