Website of Emergency Management Office, the People's Government of Guangdong Province, (www.gdemo.gov.cn), the first Emergency Management Website is officially launched today.

Huang Huahua, Director General of Guangdong Emergency Management Committee, Vice Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, Liu Yupu, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Emergency Management Committee, Vice Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee, Secretary of Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of CPC Guangdong Committee, Liang Weifa, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Emergency Management Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Guangdong Committee, Director General of Department of Public Security of Guangdong Province affairs, Zhong Yangsheng, Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong, Li Ronggen, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Emergency Management Committee and Vice Governor of Guangdong, Tong Xing, Vice Governor of Guangdong, attended the opening ceremony.

Governor Huang Huahua delivered a speech at the ceremony and Xu Shangwu, Secretary General of Guangdong Provincial Government, made an introduction to the newly established website.

Governor Huang Huahua said in his speech that enhancing emergency management and improving capacity of prevention and control of unexpected public incidents is an important task of Guangdong government in its Harmonious Society Construction Campaign. The establishment of gdemo.gov.cn is an important move in the province¡¯s emergency management improvement, and is the pilot project of the province in its effort to take the lead in the country¡¯s emergency management work. The website will better the province¡¯s promotion of related knowledge and help local residents to better their preparation to deal with the emergencies.

Huang urged the GDEMO to make full use of the website, providing in-time and all related necessary information to the public. And the website¡¯s safety and promotion should also be on top of GDEMO¡¯s work list.

Huang also said the establishment of the website should be a new drive of the whole province in its emergency management enhancement with a target to outdo other provinces in the country.
