Sources from the Guangdong Agriculture Bureau say that an inspection held by the Animal Disease-Control Monitoring Office of the Bureau and its counterpart in Guangzhou city shows that animal and animal products currently sold in supermarkets, agricultural produce markets and wholesale markets are now examined and certified as products qualified for sale to the public.

Inspections of animals and animal products are now conducted in Baiyun Jiahe Poultry Trade Center, Tianhe Animal Trade Center, at two major wholesale markets named Baiyun Jiangfeng Poultry Wholesale Market and Baiyun Baixing Bird Wholesale Market as well as selected agricultural produce markets and supermarkets.

Inspectors focus their examinations for disease control in these markets and take samples for lab analysis. According to the inspections, measures for detoxification, inspection and inoculation treatment of dead animals are in place and well established.
