The Guangri Group-Invested project of the Guangzhou Environmental Protection Investment Co.,Ltd was founded on January 25 of this year. The chairman of the group announced, that the Guangzhou Environmental Protection Company will build the Likeng Waste Power Generation Plant II project which is expected to commence in June of this year and is projected to be put into operation in early 2010.

By then, city waste materials will be transported outside the factory and put into incinerators. The residue heat produced is used to power the boiler which is, in turn, used to generate steam to be used to power generators. The generators, in turn, produce power directly connected to the grid. City waste is thereby turned into power for public use. Gases that are only subject to desulfurization and dedioxination can be released into the air and the steam will be recycled.

This formula has been applied to the Likeng Plant I which has a daily treatment capacity of 1000 tons. The above procedure will continue to be used in the Plant II whose daily treatment capacity will reach 2000 tons.

Currently waste produced in Guangzhou is simply buried with waste-power generation considered secondarily but taking advantage of waste processing to generate power will be facilitated in the future.
