Sources from Guangzhou Customs say that to facilitate the entry and exit of tourists, a declaration-free system would be enforced in ports of all types nationwide on February 1st, 2008. Tourists that carry no goods worth being declared to customs are not required to fill out the Declaration Form. This reform will substantially increase entry efficiency.

It was stipulated in previous regulations that passengers by plane who enters and exits the Chinese border were required to fill out the Declaration Form.

Uniform good declaration regulations would be enforced in all air ports, sea ports and inland ports on February 1st, 2008. A new Declaration Form that integrates entry and exit would be put in place. Tourists that carry no goods worth being declared to customs are not required to fill out the Declaration Form. This reform will substantially increase entry efficiency. Only those that carry relevant goods would be required to fill out the form and clear customs by choosing declaration channels and declaring to customs in writing. A tourist-friendly measure would also be carried out. People just need to check their answers on the form.
