The Music Hall of Xinghai Conservatory of Music is coming to the end of its construction and will be open to the public in the College Town with its 1,060 professional symphony music halls.

Dwarfed by the world's huge symphonic halls, the music hall of Xinghai Conservatory of Music is equipped with first-class acoustic effects. As Jiang Guolong, Director of Institute of Acoustics, Tongji University put it, "This is the first acoustics-oriented music hall nationwide."

So far the Acoustic Research Office of South China University has completed acoustic tests for the music hall. The reverberation time of medium frequencies when all the seats are taken is 2.2 seconds, higher than the 2 seconds in the National Grand Theatre and Music Hall Vienna. The other indices are also among the top 3 in China.

According to Gu Qi who is responsible for the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the music halls will hold international academic meetings and master classes as well as introduce domestic and international music festivals in addition to being a base for teaching and research. It will constitute the three major halls together with the Ersha Xinghai Music Hall and Guangzhou Opera.
