The officials from over 20 consulates in Guangzhou, South China, attended Chinese New Year Party of Radio Guangdong on the evening of January 23. With a theme of ¡°Openness, Friendship, Cooperation¡±, the event featured Cantonese operas and joint performances of hosts and foreign guests.







New English Service Website Launches

The brand new website of the Radio Guangdong English Service was formally launched, witnessed by guests attending the annual Chinese New Year party. The website, http://e.rgd.com.cn, will offer access for on-line program listening and downloading. 

Radio Guangdong is the first and the only broadcaster of English radio news in Guangdong. It offers ¡°Guangdong News Now¡± frequently updated local news; ¡°Olympic Countdown¡± the hottest information on the Beijing Olympics; ¡°Guangdong Today¡± stories about Guangdong and the Guangdong people; ¡°My Guangdong¡± the experiences of expats living in Guangdong and ¡°Cultural Express¡± first-hand event information.

70£¥ Rating, 55 Million Listeners

In the Guangdong province, seven out of every ten radio listeners tune in to Radio Guangdong frequently. Surveys show that among 90 million permanent residents and 72 million radio listeners, 55 million, or 70%, listen to Radio Guangdong.
