During the Sixth "China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) 2004",
www.chtf.com, Shenzhen Foreign and Overseas Affairs Office, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Association, have invited 6 delegations more than 100 specialist, entrepreneurs and overseas Chinese student mainly from U.S., the United Kingdom and Southeast Asia to participate in this event.
The delegations include executives from companies involved in a wide variety of technology fields and products ¨C from venture capital, business investment & development, international manufacturing sourcing, to biotech medicine research, software development, hi-tech assembly equipment, high precision machining and many others.
Some of them are old friends and some are the first time to the CHTF, such as the delegation organized by Fremont Chamber of Commerce. They are all very active people in the forefront of the international hi-tech industry, among whom some are very prominent ones in some research fileds and some are very influential experts in the field of technology. The following people have brought many hi-tech projects with them. These projects have received warm welcome since its debut in CHTF, the strong need for negotiation and cooperation which result in high transaction volume.
The CHTF is the best platform for the Hi-tech achievement and market application. The Fair runs from October 12 to 17, 2004 in the brand new 1.4 million sq. ft. Convention and Exhibition Center and will be attended by over 250,000 visitors and 3,500 exhibitors. This is the largest and most important Chinese national fair dealing with the import and export of high technology and hi-tech products.
During every session of this event, the overseas Chinese institutions have been taking advantage of this platform and actively invite the technological specialist of overseas Chinese, the entrepreneurs and overseas Chinese student to participate in CHTF.
"This is an excellent opportunity for learning about high tech trade with China and to meet and build relationships with trading partners and government officials for import and export between Fremont and China" said Henry Yin. The Chair of Fremont Chamber of Commerce and Commissioner of Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC) with the City of Fremont, "With a 10% quarterly growth in GNP, there are many, many companies in China looking for sourcing and distribution partners within the USA, hopefully with Fremont,U.S.A".
Shenzhen Foreign and Overseas Affairs Office, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Association arranged all the activities for the delegations.The main objectives of these delegations met with Guangdong Shenzhen government officials ,City Mayors, Economic Development Directors, and business community leaders, Promoting economic environment of their cities, Evaluating trading opportunity and technology exchange with China, Encouraging local businesses to be proactive into global market. Visiting local hi-tech businesses including Nokia, Sanmina-SCI, Belton, Ameroll, etc.
In the Signing Ceremony which been held by Shenzhen Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Association on October 13th, 8 contracts related to IT, Software design, biochemical and machinery manufacture, total sum is 1.1 billion. Two "Sister Chamber" between Fremont Chamber of Commerce and that of the City of Shenzhen, between United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce and that of the City of Shenzhen are established. It is again testified that the CHTF plays a very unique and special role on the transformation and application of the hi-tech achievement of the overseas Chinese into practical productive forces, which is also proved that the technological experts and entrepreneurs of overseas Chinese is the treasure mine of us to make good use of their capital and intellectual recourses.
During the CHTF, the special session of transaction of hi-tech achievement for the overseas Chinese, the technology forum have become the spotlight of this Fair and was paying attention. Through the joint effort of Shenzhen Foreign and Overseas Affairs Office, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Association, many scientific experts of overseas Chinese start their business in Shenzhen, which their business was wide extended and at the same time play an active role on the development of the hi-tech industry in Shenzhen.
